Blockchain investigator Chainalysis hit by cybersecurity incident
Chainalysis, a blockchain analytics company, disclosed that it was recently targeted by a cybersecurity incident, akin to similar incidents suffered by other platforms.
“Based on our current investigation, we have found no evidence of unauthorized access to investigation content, authentication credentials, or session tokens,” they stated in a blog post. Some non-sensitive customer data, including user IDs, names, and email addresses, was exposed.
The company has engaged world-class third-party cybersecurity experts and is utilizing large language models to strengthen its security measures. They emphasized that the incident was not related to the recent crypto theft at Binance.
Chainalysis' recent mapping of a network of Russian intermediaries involved in North Korean cryptocurrency cash-outs, and their report on suspected North Korea-linked hacks accounting for 89% of reported crypto losses this year, highlight the heightened security concerns in the crypto space.
